Year round this is a fantastic hike with the opportunity to view unique geological features and flora.
A short hike, not for everyone though. Just a few miles outside Farmington. Up and down hills, with some rough terrain including rocks, some boulders, and lots of tree roots directly in the walking path. Good place to take rambunctious kids wanting to expel some energy. Ages 5+ as it can be too much for younger kids trying to climb some of the rocks and roots in the path, and a cliff that you have to walk by.
This is consistently rated as one of the best trails in Missouri and at under 2 miles long it's a perfect short hike for almost everyone. (There are several steep sections, and one of the set of stairs needed repair badly).
Such a fabulous place to hike. Lots to look at. Very cool rock formations. We all loved climbing on the cauliflower rocks so much! Had an absolute blast! Definitely a place we will want to go back and and hike again in the spring time. Loved Pickle Springs.
Amazing views of the mountains from my the top of huge sandstone boulders. Beautiful cave inlets to explore.
Love the trail nice wild life hike it's about an hour hike but worth every second
Amazing trail with fantastic scenery. If at all possible AVOID going on the weekends. We tried to go twice but the parking lot was full, and the road leading to the trail head was full of cars as well.
